There us no reason a small hardware store should have this incredible variety of watch batteries, but they most certainly do.

Not like they used to be. Went to buy hardware and the dude tried overcharging me for a bolt stating that they labeled them wrong and can’t honor the price that was labeled with the bolt zip tied to the tray. I showed him the bin I got it from and he still wasn’t going to sell me the one bolt. He wanted to charge me 9.99 for the bolt when it was labeled 4.69. I went to another Ace hardware for the same bolt only to be charged 4.29 for the bolt. These guys overcharge and don’t care about customer service. Bummed that it’s the local hardware store but at this point I’d rather drive a little further to not have to deal with them.

Unable to return something because they claim that they’re not a franchise even though they have the same name as other stores so I literally have to drive to the other location so inconvenient

Unlike San Diego, where you can find many Home Depot or Loews stores, LA County has maintained many small business operations. So, when I found Ace Hardware, I was pleased to be in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. Sam, with a very matter-of-fact demeanor, was very helpful.

I just walked into this hardware store to buy some materials. As soon as I entered, the salesperson gave me a suspicious look and told me to take off my backpack and leave it at the register, as if I was about to steal something. This is absolutely outrageous. It’s an insult. Especially considering that other customers were walking around with bags, yet I was singled out. Even if you don’t like someone, you should never say something like that to a customer—you should just discreetly keep an eye on them if necessary.
