I just happened to be in the area of this store on 5/18/2026 and needed assistance locating some items. One of the employees helped me, and I trusted that I was being given the correct products. Unfortunately, after driving approximately 20 miles back home, I realized I had been given the wrong item. Because the store is such a long distance from my home, I had to think twice about making another trip just to exchange the incorrect item for the correct one. However, on 5/19/2026, the weather was nice, so I decided to ride my motorcycle back to the store to resolve the issue. When I arrived, the cashier assisting me turned out to be the owner, CHAD. I assumed the store would simply exchange the incorrect item for the correct one, and possibly waive the small price difference of about $3 considering the inconvenience and extra travel involved. My main concern was simply getting the correct parts so I could complete my project. Once again, CHAD called an employee over the PA system to assist me. I trusted the employee’s knowledge and accepted the items provided. After making the 20-mile trip back home for the second time, I discovered that only half of the items were correct while the other half were still wrong. My third mistake was calling the store and asking to speak with the manager or owner. CHAD came to the phone, and from the beginning it was clear he had no intention of being apologetic or understanding. Instead of acknowledging the repeated mistake made by his employee, he told me it was entirely my responsibility to verify the items myself before leaving the store. I explained that I trusted the employee because I assumed he was knowledgeable about the products and capable of selecting the correct items. CHAD responded by saying he believes it is simply “common sense” for customers to make sure employees select the correct products. What disappointed me most was not just the repeated mistakes, but the complete lack of accountability, customer service, and professionalism from the owner himself. A simple apology and willingness to help would have gone a long way.

We have been going to this Ace for over 30 years. Everyone has been incredibly knowledgeable and helpful over the years from the cashier Kim to the employees who work the aisles. I do not like the framing of the cashier now however.

Staff here is consistently more helpful than other hardware stores I've been to, and I've hit 5 just in the last week. Kim has been great every time she's helped me, and everyone else has been helpful as well.

I needed a special Black and Decker battery and Ace had it in stock! I was able to call ahead to confirm and when I got there they had already pulled the battery for me and had it ready to go at the front register. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Ace is still the place!!

It's a real hardware store. So many times, hardware stores become focused on garden and cute accessories. This is an old-time hardware store with helpful staff. They have the essentials and have saved me many trips to home depot. Notably, they have a great big green egg section. They throw in extras which actually make this a better deal than buying things at the Big Green egg store. They also have a fairly extensive collection of yeti vessels. They're particularly helpful at helping me find a specific tool or screw or or fastener or other piece of hardware that would normally take me quite a while to find at the home depot. Also, they seem to have their finger on the pulse of what's interesting do the locals. There was a point where chickens were a big thing in the neighborhood and they carry chicken supplies If you're looking for some odd air filter or some lumber, this is not your spot. But if you need some weird little thing to fix your toilet or cabinet or door, this is a great place.
