This is the best hardware store on the planet! I love this place! It has a family old-school vibe with a great selection and reasonable prices. They seem to have everything! Best part is that it’s NOT a big box chain store. The workers are super friendly and always available to help you find what you are looking for. I urge you to checkout Southland for your hardware , home supplies and gardening needs.

Awesome and huge hardware store. The inside is way bigger than I expected! I needed to find a very specific part and the employee I asked knew exactly what I needed and showed me immediately where it was stocked. Great experience! I recommend checking out this local hardware store.

always a pleasure coming here and getting expert advice on home tasks that I'm not always familiar with. helping a neighbor reccaulk a window and noticed this rather wide gap. caulk is kinda expensive, so this foam noodle helps fill the gap and save Some dollars.

I honestly can’t stand this place. From the moment you walk in, the energy from the staff feels off and unwelcoming. The employees at the front in particular come across as cold, dismissive, and uncomfortable to interact with. What bothered me most is the clear difference in how customers are treated. As a Hispanic customer, I’ve personally experienced and witnessed a noticeable contrast in tone, attention, and overall service compared to white customers. It’s subtle, but very real and it leaves a bad impression. Good customer service should feel respectful and consistent for everyone, and unfortunately that hasn’t been the case here. I won’t be returning.

I grew up in the neighborhood (attended Lanier and Lamar) and continue to live in the neighborhood. Southland is a cornerstone of our community. They provide service, advice, and products with respect, courtesy, and at a fair price. They pretty much always have what you need. In my case, each time I visit, I leave with something I do NOT need, but certainly want! Unlike how I would feel if she were to go to go try to shop at a box store, I feel safe and comfortable having my 87-year-old mother go shopping at Southland.
