This is my neighborhood location and I have always utilized this for all my hardware needs even though the prices are higher than the big box stores because they typically have great customer service- but that will stop today. I run a bunch of clinics through the valley and live nearby so I tend to source all materials from this site. However, today I went in to get keys made for a new employee and the man who usually is at the key center wasn’t present. The man working left me standing there for 20 minutes while he chit chatted with a woman about life. Nothing they discussed was related to him helping her as a customer. Three separate employees came to the counter and asked what I needed and when I told them they each told me that I needed 6 keys made which they thought was a lot, complained about it, said they wanted to go to lunch and passed me off to another employee only for them to say the same. I had a 30 minute window to get this completed before other work tasks and these employees in the time it took them to chat and walk around passing me off onto others could have just made the keys. I don’t know what happened to this store but I have another ace near my office that has wonderful customer service that I will now utilize exclusively in the future. Lost regular customer today.based on the recent reviews I would say (as someone who handles these matters within my own company) that there has been a staffing change and that change is impacting sales at this site. If I were the manager I would promptly address and correct this. I would reach out to those who are leaving negative reviews and offer discounts or consolation of some sort, I would keep kpis on my staff and address performance issues immediately. It is better to be short staffed than to have poor staffing that drives away business.

This place used to be great, they still got everything u might need but the staff are obnoxious and dont understand a working man cant wait in line for 10 minutes. Cashier was on his soap box. Well some people gotta work. I frequentled this Ace, but ill never come againn I recommend six points ace hardware on 19th & cinnabar. Great staff, vary respectful & urgent! And still vary helpful. Im mind boggled how that cashier @ barrys could be so unaware & ignorant.

On March 8th just before 1:00 in the afternoon I stopped in at Barry's Ace hardware to get some nuts and bolts and washers and when I got there since it was a Sunday didn't have very many customers in store I had a younger Hispanic gentleman want me to the back and show me where the nuts and bolts and washers were where he then went on to help another customer and finished with him quickly and then proceeded to talk to his friend and another coworker while I was still struggling to find nuts and bolts. I'm also a neurodivergent individual so sometimes going into buildings I'm unfamiliar with can cause me a great deal of anxiety and I've never been to an Ace hardware that's caused me to fall behind but waltz has been my neighborhood Ace hardware for almost two decades and they are on top of their game. While still struggling in the nuts and bolt section where the employees weren't helping me while talking amongst themselves with another friend or employee that was a total of three people standing there and they're literally standing 3 ft away from me. So I decided to go up to the pay counter and pay but only had taken pictures of the labels for the nuts and bolts I wanted to purchased so I could take them up front because there was nowhere to set down the plastic bag to write any information on it and at the register was what I would suspect was a manager and discussed with him what was going on and fact that I was ignored by the employee and he then did everything in his power to speed along my purchase and help me get on my way. The manager or person in charge was sympathetic to my situation and I imagine he was starting to notice I was having some sort of anxiety issue because I was starting to do the comfort rock and was struggling with my words in which he then gives me his undivided attention and got me out the door. I choose Ace hardware over home Depot specifically because of the customer experience when it comes to being taken care of by the employees It's the added professional touch that sets you apart from Home Depot and when I'm done with this comment I'm going to my favorite neighborhood Ace hardware to give them a positive comment because obviously they're on top of their game.

2025 RUINED MY CHRISTMAS! On Dec 10th I called the store to make sure b4 purchasing the online special Yukon Solo Stove with stand and cover were avail before the 25th My total $524.04. Assistant Manger(AM) said they just received one it was unopened and box was not damaged in anyway. I called 3x and went down in person to see it that there would be no mistakes. The AM had never shown the one I WAS TOLD was in back with my name on it. I was shown the floor model only. Assured I was not getting the floor model. I made arrangements to pick up on the 24th as ACE HARDWARE Christmas Party was at noon.and were closing the store early. I arrived at 9am when the AM and worker brought it out my order to me, I was in tears.... A banged up box apparently re-taped with a very large 6in hole. AM with a cruel demeanor said "Oh well if you don't like it Ill just resell it there is nothing wrong with it" and I took pictures of it the AM was more concerned about the hole in the box getting larger than me receiving the FLOOR MODEL which was not on the floor anymore. Also said well, so what is it a present" Huh...The worker helped me put it in my truck and I paid him to help me since AM didn't care. On Christmas Eve when I surprised my family, 3 grown sons and grandchildren all excited and started to assemble 2 PIECES WERE MISSING! I was in tears. They were more disappointed that I was so upset but I knew that this AM was going to give me the hardest time to try and return it. My 2nd son a professional called the store to explain I would bringing it back. My oldest son came with me as I knew this man would take advantage of me. The AM walked away with my receipt in hand left us standing there for over 25 min. After asking several times where he went hoping we would just leave, he came back and said he'd see what he could do. Another 15min went by, my oldest walked back looking for him and found him with his back turned and had said something so bad my son would not repeated it. All my son said was that as a man he was disappointed and when the AM turned around and saw my son heard what he had heard him say, the AM came back quickly hands shaking A LOT and said I would get a full refund..... My son will still not tell me what the AM said. If YOU AGREE that an elderly disabled woman was NOT treated like a well paying customer. GO SHOP ANYWHERE ELSE for your gifts. No offering me a discount or anything not even one apology after mentioning that they had ruined my CHRISTMAS 3 SEPARATE TIMES. THAT is who Barrys Ace Hardware 12st and Northern Employs. YOU CAN DELETE MY COMMENTS ON FB AND BLOCK ME BUT I WILL KEEP POSTING "YOU" CHOSE TO DO NOTHING FOR ME
