Matt notified me the night before and the day of about his arrival time. I appreciated being kept up to date. When he arrived we discussed the cost estimate and then the placement of the grab bars in the bathroom. Matt gave me some good suggestions and together we made a decision. He left to buy the grab bars but, when he opened them, one did not have the protector that covers the attachment to the wall. He strongly recommended I should have it to protect the screws and keep water from getting in. I agreed. Back he went to exchange it. When he returned, he worked steadily placing/attaching the grab bars, cleaning up thoroughly and we settled the bill. I found Matt to be knowledgeable, thorough and efficient. I appreciate the work he did. I would highly recommend him and, if I have other home projects, I will request him.

I contracted Ace handyman services due to their reviews. The gentleman that showed up was very courteous and friendly. I requested to have the toilet on the main level, pulled and replace the damaged subfloor beneath. Due to my description of the issue, I was originally Quoted $600 for a for a six hour job. It turned out to be $2200. more than I expected to pay. However, Sam, the handyman was not equipped to do the job (Supplies on hand). I noticed that his truck was a midsize pick up truck, which didn’t hold much. Therefore, each time he needed supplies, it took an hour minimum before he returned. I just wanted it completed. It’s not very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. However, I will replace the flooring so it all matches.

I strongly advise against using Ace Handyman Services. We were initially quoted one day for our project. During the first call, we raised concerns that it would take longer and were told not to worry. In reality, the project stretched across 4+ days. Pricing is hourly, but we were not provided with written updates or detailed breakdowns as the scope changed. Charges were presented at the end of each day, leaving little visibility into how costs were increasing in real time. On the first day, the technician determined additional help was needed. A second worker was added without a clear, written update to pricing or documented approval beforehand. The project timeline was repeatedly misrepresented. Each day we were told it would likely be finished that day, yet it continued to extend. Communication between teams and management appeared inconsistent. When new technicians were brought in, they did not seem to have full context, and we had to repeatedly explain the same details. At one point, Will (one of the managers) had to come out in person to review the work due to the number of issues. During that visit, he identified multiple areas that needed to be corrected. However, when those same issues were still present after the work was redone (effectively requiring the project to be done twice) the focus shifted. Instead of prioritizing resolution, he expressed frustration about how many days had been spent on our project. We also experienced ongoing problems with follow-through. Items we discussed were missed or had to be revisited, and basic precautions (like protecting floors) were not handled to a reasonable standard, resulting in our brand new hardwoods being scratched with no resolution from Ace. Communication with the office was unreliable. We were frequently told to expect callbacks that never came, and scheduling updates changed often. After the project, we attempted to follow up through multiple channels but did not receive further responses. One additional note: my partner previously left a negative review, with photos from our project, and it was removed shortly after being posted. Take that for what you will.

What started off as a good experience to a major dive at the end and now no one at Ace is willing to address this. The service done was good but at the end the technician got very shady and wouldn't let me see the iPad. He told me it was 9 hours even though we were only at 7.5 hours. When I questioned him he blew me off and I didn't feel comfortable at all in my house alone with this person who was being very deceitful. He was pressuring me to sign things without explaining the costs. I tried to quickly end the face to face ecounter and called the home office immediately after he left explaining that I was overcharged. I asked for an itemized receipt multiple times and said I have all of the ring camera footage to confirm the times at the house. I'm 6 calls in and I haven't been sent a receipt and no one seems to care to address this. This now makes be believe that this is their standard business practice. Whatever you do, do not use these services unless you want overcharged and ignored. Definitely don't use these services if your are female as they will try to intimidate and strong arm you.

Tommy did a great job! He arrived early, was extremely accommodating and did excellent work on our project. So happy with the service and results.
