This True Value is truly amazing!!! They had all the parts I needed to fix my shower door. Incredible customer service from the moment you walk-in and continuing with Robbie in the shop in the back. Robbie found all the parts I needed. Give this hardware store & Robbie a try

How did I end up here, at this True Value store? It is off my usually well-worn and rather beaten path. Oh, I remember! I was nearby, at City Floral, and I needed something for my garden that they didn't have. True Value was close, and they did have what I was looking for. Now, I tend to go to them for all my plant- and yard-related purchases. The entire store is quite a marvel, however, for it is well-stocked, with lots of useful stuff, and some unexpected and fun odds and ends. It's an interesting place, then, for browsing. The members of the staff have always been friendly and helpful. There's a bicycle shop inside, too.

I try to support my local businesses and I’m giving this a 4 star because the lady in there this morning was very helpful and friendly but the guy in shorts behind counter was pretty rude and didn’t even acknowledge me . I just want to say that in this present world it is so important to be kind and be friendly, especially if you are a small store on Colfax. Like he didn’t even acknowledge me, and for that reason, I put my bigger expense item back and decided to go elsewhere. That’s a real shame and maybe he was just having a bad day but he needs to know that the way he was can turn around someone’s day for the worst so he needs to shape it up .

I highly recommend going to True Value Hardware on Colfax. The have a great inventory of different tools, house hold items, and their customer service is great! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They have a glass & screen replacement service, as well as a wood cutting service in the back of the store too. They've helped me with numerous projects and are very cost-effective. For a few glass projects, I've told them what sizes I needed & for what purpose. They made recommendations about what type of glass I should get (tempered vs. regular, and what thickness). If it's tempered, they'll order the custom size for you and you can pick it up in ~1week. If it's regular, they will cut it in-store and you can pick it up same-day. For my wood projects, I've bought wood there or brought-in my own wood, told them the sized I needed, and they've cut it for me. Their prices are usually lower than most hardware stores. I highly recommend True Value Hardware on Colfax! P.S. I included pictures of a project they helped me with! I took two old wood doors and installed replacement glass inserts into each door. Unfortunately, the glass inserts were too narrow and so I had to have wood "filler" pieces cut to fill-in any gaps. The project required very small and particular cuts of wood. The shop had the right tools and knowledge to help me get the project done! Thank you!

I have been a customer of this true value for 17 years. I appreciate their customer service, prices, and convenient location. This was not my experience last night. After a long day at work, I did arrive ten minutes before closing. I know that can be annoying. The two employees working have helped me several times in the past. I have found the man who was working the back to be knowledgeable, helpful, and a bit salty previously. However yesterday he was initially dismissive, perhaps because it was close to closing time. I became frustrated. He did return to help me and quickly found what I needed. He and I verified the price TWICE. I proceeded to check out with the woman at the register. I told her the quantity and price. She told me she knew they cost more. I told her the price again. Again she told me she knew they cost more. She rang me up and processed my credit card the price I had told her but continued to make comments. Within ten minutes I had been dismissed, accused of lying 4 times and finally accused of stealing by misrepresenting the price. Angry and hurt I pushed the bag away and said keep it I’m done. Upon leaving I turned back to see the two of them laughing.
