Never ever ever have I been treated so rudely in this store. I got a key made, and the person that made the key was efficient and extremely polite. I went to the register and said “excuse me” to a cashier whose back was facing me, me twice the second time she turned around and looked at me with a death stare! I told her as much that I had no idea she was on the phone and she was looking at me with a death stare, and she said “you saw I was on the phone”, & i replied that “I had no idea”. She tried to straighten up, but the damage was already done. It was completely unnecessary. I can’t propose to know what she was going through in her life at that moment & would love to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I don’t think it serves anyone when you are silent about bad treatment at an establishment. She was a light skinned, black lady with curly braids.

Today was not a good day for the employees at Ace Hardware. Their checkout systems were down and they checkout clerk had a meltdown. Rather than just apologize to the customers for the inconvenience, she went on a rant about how customers need to wait and they should be home instead of at ace hardware (on memorial day). I do hope management retrain their employees to be respectful to customers. Otherwise ask them not to return to work until they're ready to do a job right.

I was visiting my daughter and noticed that her shower head wasn’t very good, so I decided to buy her a new one. I took photos of the one in situ, showed it to the assistant who advised me which one to buy. It only cost about $20 and when it was fitted, everyone was very happy with the result. A fully stocked hardware store with knowledgeable staff.

I have mixed feelings. I like having this store in the neighborhood, but the prices are pretty high and the service is often either lackadaisical or outright rude. Home Depot now offers free delivery for any smaller item that doesn't need to go on a freight truck. I'd prefer to support the local store, but some-day-no-hassle-free-delivery-to-your-door kinda beats rude service, limited inventory, and higher prices. Take for example the concrete screws I needed this weekend. Ace didn't have the diameter and length required for my project. So I made a Home Depot order last night at around 8pm, and screws landed on my front step this morning at 10:15am. Doing business with the big box stores is obviously a devil's bargain. But at least they pretend to care about my business.

Needed a thermocouple for my furnace because the pilot wouldn't stay lit, they had just what I needed and more. Nice and friendly store.
