I never had an issue with this company before coming to this Ace. The old 84th and center and new 84th street location were/are great. I didnt appreciate the condescending tone of the older man with a grey beard whilst looking for my clips for my bumper. I also didnt appreciate the near denial of my transaction. I was approved for $9.40 on my debit card. I rang up ~$15. I asked to take off my redbull and two clips, taking my transaction down to $9.74. I had $.35 in change on the table. The other non-bearded older gentleman Voided my transaction and being that the bank was closed that money became unavailable to be used again, even if it is to be refunded tomorrow. I expressed my concern, he ignored me, and I did it anyways. My point is, I wasn’t able to pay with that card. I had a credit card that I was going to resort to, but the cashier did not know this. He called the man with the grey beard up to the register. This man accused me of not taking out both clips, which he later admitted his mistake, to his credit. But I didn’t appreciate being watched like I’m a criminal about to run out the door the entire time. The older, non bearded man went to the trouble to take the drink and place it behind him which ticked me off. I understand what I look like. But I made a point to be honest, place the bag with the clear side visible to the cashier, ask the grey bearded man about writing the part number down. I did everything in my power to remain honest and transparent. I was incredibly frustrated and won’t be returning to this Ace, not even for a return. This is by far the worst service I’ve received at a company I, prior to this experience, enjoyed going to. For the record, I paid using my credit card. I just didn’t appreciate the treatment. The selection was really good, only one niche piece (kia clips) that I couldn’t find. I would really recommend overhauling your staff at this location, the folks on 84th street were friendly and competent, the ones here were incompetent and rude.

Be careful if you wear an Arsenal shirt, and ask for help from employees, apparently that makes you the weird one, no really. Dismissive tone, passive attitude, completely gross, and to think I was just trying to find some answers. Edit: In addition to being rude, they are also pretending like one of their staff members didn't ask me straight out: "Did you actually coach The Arsenal?" Kindergarden level of manipulation and gaslighting here folks, maybe some people never do grow up, oh well.

What a pleasant experience I had here. The staff was so friendly and they went above and beyond my expectations for getting a custom glass piece some for my art work. I would go here more often for my home needs.

I go to this Ace Hardware now and again and I have always had a good experience; I do not usually have to wait in line long, the store is set up to where I can find everything, and I have not yet met a rude employee! Today I had the pleasure of having Phyllis as my cashier, she was very sweet, cheerful, and considerate. It is nice to see somebody who is authentic and has customer service skills in this day and age! :)

I went in the store after walking around lost a lady ask could she help me find anything. She showed me to tje fertilizer but said she was not able to answer ny questions and she would get someone who could. I heard her say someone needs help i waited and waited nobody came. I left without getting what I needed
