Don't have Ace Hardware Richardson key a lock to match other door locks you buy at their store. Today I bought 2 lockable door knobs with deadbolts, each with a lock cylinder. I asked the manager to key them to match my other 2 same door locks that I bought last month from the same store. Each door/deadbolt was $70 each. When i went to pay for the locks they added another $60, which was for keying each of the 4 cylinders to match my other locks. It took 10 minutes to do the keying. The cost of keying was almost the cost of another lock. When I got home I checked my receipt from last month when I bought the same 2 lockable knobs/deadbolt and had them keyed the same and they didn't charge me anything. I thought it might be a mice service since I spend $150 (incl tax) for the 2 sets of locks but apparently they're more interested in profit than customer service, which I had always complemented them on in the past. Could be my last trip to Ace Hardware in Richardson.

Ace Hardware of Richardson is - A Problem Solver’s Paradise! I can't say enough great things about Ace Hardware, especially Kevin, who truly goes above and beyond. Whenever I have a problem, Ace Hardware has the solution, and today was no different. I needed to learn how to take apart my bed and headboard and then put it back together, and Kevin was there to guide me every step of the way. He patiently explained everything, making sure I understood what to do without making me feel overwhelmed. The level of customer service here is outstanding, and it's clear that they genuinely care about helping their customers. If you ever need help, Ace Hardware is the place to go! Thank you, Kevin, for always making things easier. I’ll post pics once I’ve given it a go - thank you!

If your looking for speciality items, only 1 place to go. Plus, if you're looking for help, there is always someone that greets you at the door. The other big box stores should learn something from this.
