Friendly Service? I like to support small local businesses; I try to purchase at Ace Hardware as much as possible, even though prices are higher than at the big orange or blue box stores. However, this trip was the last. Needed some carriage bolts; the employee at the front asked what I needed and spouted off the aisle number (I already knew the aisle, the one with the hardware bins, which has over 500 trays); he couldn't be bothered to walk 25ft to show me the bin. There was only one other customer in the store, an elderly gentleman who looked to be in his 80s; he was in the same aisle, struggling to find the parts in the bins. After 10 minutes hunting through the bins, I finally found the bolts and hardware needed; the elderly gentleman was still struggling when I left. At checkout, I asked if they stocked lumber; the employee said yes, but they didn't have the size I needed. He said to try the lumber yard in Newcastle. I politely asked for the address, and he told me, "You can look it up faster yourself" (complete with an attitude and an eye roll). Paid for my hardware and left. So much for my goodwill by shopping local. To be fair, there are several employees who have been friendly and helpful, usually on the weekend, but they are rarely there when I need something.

I’m not usually one that writes reviews good or bad, but I just felt compelled to share this one. Everybody in the store was so friendly, even at 10am on a Saturday morning. From the moment when I walked through the door, everybody was so helpful. I was in and out less than five minutes. Customer service like that is very rare in 2025.

They don't have phone etiquette, they have no clue what parts are in stock the place is a joke. Don't waste your time with them

Great place to grab that plumbing, electrical, or gardening part you need. They always seem to have what I need. Scott is great.
