I visited your store today to have a blank key made and spoke with an older gentleman at the counter. Unfortunately, the interaction was frustrating and unprofessional. When I explained that I needed a key made, he interrupted me repeatedly and would not allow me to fully explain my situation. He quickly stated that the store did not carry the key I needed and insisted that it would have to be ordered for approximately $100. His tone came across as dismissive, and he did not attempt to listen or explore other possible solutions. After leaving, I contacted another Ace location and explained the same issue. That associate informed me that their power was currently out, and they were operating on a backup generator, which is why the key machine was temporarily unavailable. He was polite, listened carefully, and offered to help me once the machine was operational. This experience highlighted the importance of listening to customers before drawing conclusions. A simple explanation and better communication could have avoided confusion and frustration. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving customer service moving forward.

*I took off one star because I am disappointed that in the 15 or more years I have been shopping at this store they have dedicated more and more space to being a boutique gift shop and less and less to hardware.* They used to have a great selection of products but I recently noticed it had dwindled, and now I understand that was to create more space for gift-type merchandise. I tried to have a damaged key copied at Jabo’s. They now use a digital machine to duplicate keys. They made two different keys for me and neither worked. They only charged me for the first key and said if the second one didn’t work to bring it back for a refund, but at this point my time and fuel weren’t worth it. I took the key to a lock and key shop and they were able to make a working copy the first time. That said, I still prefer to shop small and local. They also have free popcorn, which is nice if you like popcorn.

You cannot find exterior lightbulbs (almost zero inventory I guess now in an agreement with only 1 brand) - yet if you want an X-mas wreath at the end of AUGUST well you are in luck! They are moving what made them relevant - adding essentially a Hallmark corner and further removing themselves (and their inventory) as a hardware store. Good Luck!

I am working on a restoration project and so far Ace has had everything I needed. I will say that I wish that the paint were a little cheaper, but then again... Note To Self: Why would you use cheap paint?

Sarah that works in the Cove is amazing! She is so helpful and thoughtful. Talked me through all the products and was so helpful!
