Unfortunately, my experiences at this Ace Hardware location over the last month have not been great. I’ve made several trips here while getting ready to move, and multiple times I noticed employees greeting and helping customers around me while completely overlooking me unless I actively asked for help first. What really made me decide to leave a review was my interaction with a cashier during a return/exchange. I had an unopened item with a receipt that this store currently sells, and because it was purchased at another Ace location, I was told they could not return or exchange it. The item was under $25, and I wasn’t even asking for cash back, just an exchange. More than anything, it was the dismissive attitude and tone that did not sit right with me. Whether intentional or not, the overall experience made me feel unwelcome, and I hope customer service improves moving forward.

If you are in need of anything grill-related, this is the spot to go! Wauwatosa Ace Hardware has a phenomenal range of grills and grilling accessories. I had tried (3) local stores before coming here and finding exactly what I needed without any issues. They also have a good selection of outdoor products, power tools and accessories, paint, and much more. I also enjoy shopping their seasonal area and have picked up some great outdoor home decorations in the past. Great, friendly staff really rounds out the experience.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid with my dad and have always had great experiences—until today. I stopped in looking for a last-minute spigot cover for the sub-zero temps, but they were sold out. That part wasn’t an issue. What was disappointing was the lack of follow-through and help. When I asked two staff members if they could check inventory at other Ace locations, they said yes and even listed which stores they could see—but then didn’t actually check anything. I also asked if they had any DIY spigot cover ideas, and was simply told no, without any brainstorming or suggestions. This Ace has always stood out to me because of how friendly and helpful the staff usually are, especially when it comes to problem-solving. Today felt very different, and I left pretty bummed. I hope this was just an off day, because my past experiences here have been consistently positive.

The sales associates greet you and help as much as you want throughout the store. Great advice on purchases and minor repairs. They empower you to feel like you can accomplish and achieve.

Everything I visit this store I am always satisfied. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
